Day 13: Strikes, Spares And Moose Jobs

Today we took the kids to a Halloween bowling party with their league. It was a lot of fun, I wish more kids had come though. My children both ended up taking prizes home for their costumes; one of them being a 5 lb box of the World’s Finest Chocolates. I’m sure it’ll take at least all year, or maybe 6 months to get through it. It was very generous on the bowling alley’s behalf. I will be sure to forward them the cavity bills from the dentist, ha ha!

We also took in the hockey game last night. The Rebels did not disappoint; taking down the Moosejaw Warriors 5-1. I was a little put off by first period as it was so sloooooooooooooow but then it picked up during the last five minutes of the first period with the Rebels scoring their first goal. Period 2 was definitely perkier, as Moosejaw decided to come back with a goal of their own, only to be shut down yet again with 3 more goals by the end of the 2nd period by the Rebels.

My children, especially my son, enjoyed cheering for the Moosejobs or Moosies, but alas it was not their time to shine. During the third, they tried to keep up with the shots on goal, but Red Deer scored again, taking home the victory of 5 -1. We tried to win the 50 / 50 draw of a cool $7500 but some lucky Red Deerian got to take it home instead, so my husband appeased me with a hot chocolate and my spirits were lifted, as well as warmed.

It was definitely a good weekend. I’m thankful to my parents for gifting us their season tickets as well as letting us stay in their warm home, for the multitude of gutter balls that I threw today and for the ability to be able to write and share my joy of writing with you.
